It is not a secret that Sri Lanka is known for its awesome food. Make sure to have your local take you to try some seafood on Mt Lavinia Beach and tell you the story of naming the beach.

If you get a chance – ask your guide to take you to a cooking class. Their food is delicious and the process of making awesome dishes is very interesting and why not to say – tasty.

Travel as much with tuk-tuk as possible! It’s really fun, especially when you are traveling with your kids. They’ll love it.

We liked the city a lot! There is a lot to tell you about. But we were really impressed when our guide (who we hired in English) started talking to us in Armenian :D

Transportation
Colombo as most of the towns in Sri Lanka is small enough to walk around, but you can still get around by a bus, taxi or three wheelers. You can get anywhere in the town as well as villages outside the main town by a bus, which costs from Rs 10 to 50. Taxis cost around 60 Rs to 100. Even though you can get anywhere by a taxi or a bus, it would still be a lot of fun if you could take a three-wheeler, known in other parts of Asia as tuk-tuks. They are literally on every corner and you can use your bargaining skills to get the best price. They should cost no more than Rs 150 per kilometer.

Tips before visiting
Tips before visiting
Sri Lankan food is delicious, so make the most of it while you’re there. Be prepared to go a little bit slow. Although the infrastructure is improving and there a lot of different transports you could use, getting around in Sri Lanka might still be a bit trying at times.
